Why are people afraid of male protagonist

I get that people want to see more various roles for women. I feel like they might Floyd the media world with female protagonist more out of fear of backlash than say that character being the best focus of the story. Not to mention some stories can have duel or multiple protagonist. I love media but I don’t want it to hurt the overall goal of a great project just to appease some who might be more sensitive than others to a male or other gender role lead. TLDR is media afraid of a male protagonist Submitted January 30, 2019 at 12:36AM by marcussg1 http://bit.ly/2WBLK38
