The 80s decade is getting overexposed!

I lived through the 80s and while it was a fun decade there was an awful lot that was not good about it, it had huge political and military upheaval, loads of race wars and divisions, poverty and greed was rife around the world, terrorism was becoming ever more popular and unpredictable, famine and diseases were all seismic as well as commercialism and perversion through mass media, we had musicians fighting for social justice, movements to help impoverished nations, materialism also became a fashion statement and image culture began its dominance, we had plenty of ugly and regrettable moments in the 80s but it easily gets glossed over because pop culture saves the day Film and television shows nowadays are pillaging the 80s way too much and are just focusing on the colourful pop culture aspects while ignoring a lot of the other things that went on in that decade and life was definitely not all neon sunshines and rainbows back then that's for sure Submitted April 28, 2019 at
